my beautiful saturday...

saturday was a great day, even though i didn't take a nap. i woke up late (about 8:45 am!) so we decided i just wouldn't take a nap but would go to bed early that night. it was a great plan. mommy & i went to the grocery store & i behaved very nicely. if you're wondering what i drinking, it's watered-down prune juice! i LOVE it, plus it serves other purposes as well. we went to the park in the afternoon & i enjoyed playing with kira, a friend from the neighborhood playgroup. the weather was PeRfeCT!! i counted pinecones & did a lot of running around. and i slept wonderfully on saturday night!

this is where mommy found me when she arrived home after working today. i was just hanging out on my bean bag, reading a good book.

drawing & singing...

daddy & i enjoy drawing together. in this video, you will see him write out the word "STAR" (i can read that word!) and then he draws a star for me & i sing "twinkle, twinkle." he also draws a bird's body & i draw in the eye, wing, feet, plumage, and tail. daddy & MK make a great team! (sorry the video is a little dark, but you should be able to hear us very well.)

i'm a spinny girl...

lately, i have developed a love for spinning round & round. sometimes i even run around in a circle. i am just SO full of energy!

sleeping pals...

momy told me that she thought it was funny how many things i like to bring into the bed with me. some of these things were already in the bed when she left my room, but i got up & brought some more things to bed too. i have an ostrich, a goose, a little tiny kitty cat, a little yellow wooden star, a big pink flower, big bird & my hokey-pokey-elmo book. you just never know what you might need in the middle of the night!

bubbles...

daddy brought these packing bubbles home to me tonight. each bubble was very large, so i had trouble popping them by myself. but the PoPs were so LOuD!! i loved it! i jumped up & down on and hugged them.


also, on a unrelated topic... unfortunately, i have developed a cold. last night i could only sleep about one hour at a time before my congestion would get so bad & wake me up. tonight my congestion is already pretty thick, so i think mommy should get started on her sleep NOW!

ok, so we won't win any photography awards for these pictures of me in my sunday dress, but sometimes i just don't feel like posing for the camera! but mommy made a good effort of it anyway. one of these pics is of me playing with my mister potato head. i am getting really good at sticking his body parts in the right places.

my lazy saturday...

saturday was such a wonderful day! mommy, daddy & i all got to stay at home and do whatever we wanted to -- ALL day long! (we haven't had a day like that in quite some time!) so here are some of the fun things i enjoyed doing...

you know i love my beanie babies... well, one of mommy's friends at work gave me even MORE beanies! she gave me dogs, cats, a unicorn & a robin! in the second picture i am enjoying the xylophone that grandmommie gave to me at christmas.

here are some random shots from my day. i have this new big flower that i like to carry with me everywhere... well, i thought she was hungry, so i gave her part of my snack. later on, we played with play-doh again. i am also enjoying this animals sounds present from christmas. the last picture is of me just being silly & dancing.

a couple of new faves...

i guess as i get older, my interests will change. i still love my ducks & birds, but recently my love for stars has grown. i especially like the wooden christmas ornament stars that grammy made. see the little spot of yellow that i am clutching in my sleep? that is my STAR!

in this second picture, i am playing with mommy's new phone. mommy's friend showed her a bubble wrap app on this phone, so now i get to "pop" the bubbles any time i want. when i play with daddy's phone, i like to watch my neat videos & sing songs. these new phones can definitely keep me occupied.

the balls are out of the bag...

aunt lorna & uncle gene gave me this obstacle course for christmas, but we hadn't taken it out of the box yet because we can't decide where to put it. on wednesday night, i dumped all the balls out in my room & i enjoyed wallering around on them. so on thursday, we decided to set up the course in our kitchen for now. only one problem... mommy ran out of hot air!! so we only blew up the ball-bath part. daddy will have to help us with the slide! i can't wait! i am already enjoying it SOoooOOoo much!

good habits start early...

in the last couple of months, i have begun asking to have my diaper changed if i have pooped or if the diaper is very wet. mommy bought potties just for me (one for our house & one for grammy's house) but i am still not ready to sit on the potty.



but we have begun to actually WASH my hands after i eat a meal. (usually we just use a wet-wipe to clean my face & hands.) so at least we'll have that part of the potty routine down pat when i am ready to sit on the potty. and right now my potty serves as a nice step stool!

snow day...

i hear that some folks got A LOT of snow... we really just got ice here. but i was very interested in the white that blanketed all of our yard.














i refused to wear gloves, but that was OK because i did not care about touching the snow/ice anyway. mostly, i walked around the yard saying, "crunch, crunch" because that is the sound my feet made in the ice.

colors, colors...

part of my night-time routine is to watch a few you-tube videos while i brush my teeth. usually i watch sesame street or ducky videos, but mommy recently found this video about colors. i am IN LOVE with this video & i request to see it many many times every day. lately i have begun to sing along with my favorite songs and "colors, colors" is definitely a new fave! here is my rendition of "colors, colors."

a new sunday dress...

this morning we went to church & i wore my new dress. grammy recently made this dress for me -- it is a bit large, but i am wore a shirt underneath & rolled up my sleeves to help the dress fit better. the extra layer was nice anyway, since the weather was SOoOoOoO cold today. i think it is super cute!!

a little more of this & that...

in these pictures, i am playing with more christmas presents. i got a magnet drawing board from santa & grammy & pappy gave me this set of letter-books. each book has 2 or 3 pages & is shaped like a letter. i like to pull out the letters & place them all over the floor.











i helped mommy take down the christmas ornaments. i loved this big bird ornament. the next pic is of me playing with my noah's ark animals. i like to organize them into their pairs.














aunt judy & uncle craig gave this little bird to me for christmas. when i feed the milk to the bird, he makes drinking sounds & sometimes he even burps! i am really enjoying feeding him and all of my other birds too. and i feed some of the baby dolls. the last picture is of me just hanging out on mommy & daddy's bed. i like to sit there & listen to my CDs & read books.
