the hunt is on...

on saturday morning i went to the neighborhood easter egg hunt at grove park. i was sad that daddy had to work today, but mommy, grammy & pappy came with me.











the folks who set up this egg hunt know exactly how kids my age look for eggs... you can see that the eggs were all in plain view for my age group. i had fun looking at all the colors & i even put a few eggs in my basket. but then i started taking the eggs back out of the basket!














the easter bunny made an appearance too, & i had my picture taken with him. he will email the picture to me later though. so i also hung out with some of bunny's friends. on the way home, i picked flowers from alongside the road -- those are the ones i am holding.














we took this picture by the lake on our way home from the hunt. grove park is about 1.5 miles away from the house, but it was such a beautiful day, that mommy & grammy decided to walk. (pappy rode his motorcycle!) when we returned to the house, i got an easter basket from grammy & pappy!

it's playtime...

there's nothing special here, other than my cute SMILE!! in these pics i am playing with my noah's ark animals & also playing with construction paper shapes.

just another day...

i went to school this morning, like i always do on tuesdays & thursdays. we had an Easter egg hunt & my teachers told mommy that i knew exactly what to do! unfortunately, mommy didn't know about the hunt until afterwards, so we have no pictures. but i am also going to a neighborhood hunt on saturday. after school, we came home to nap & have dinner. the afternoon was rather uneventful, but i did re-discover all these birds that i got for Christmas. i lined them up all around my star & i took turns feeding them & singing songs to them.

a new favorite story...

grammy has this book called "sam's sandwich." it belonged to my uncle kyle when he was a little boy. i love to read it to myself & open up the pages. each page is like a layer of a sandwich -- the lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, cheese, and so on. but sam also hides a different bug in each layer of the sandwich so that his sister will not want to eat it. i love this book & i read it OvER & oVeR!! *by the way... "twamos" is my way of saying "tomatoes."

some dinnertime silliness...

here i am during dinner on sunday night. i was having fun talking in a silly voice & asking to play with the telephone. honestly, this video makes no sense at all, but i am just two years old.

oh atlanta, i hear you callin', i'm comin' back to you one fine day...

this weekend we went to atlanta to visit our friends, the landers. we went to the georgia aquarium on saturday. i LOVED the fish & i got to see many different varieties. back at the house, i enjoyed playing with savannah (5) & megan (3). they were very patient with me & showed me good examples of sharing. we can't wait to go back!

dressing the duckies...

one of my favorite toys is this magnet doll and magnet clothes that stick to her. but tonight i decided that my duckies should wear the magnet clothes. it's kind of hard to tell from the pictures, but i think you'll get the idea of what i was doing...

it's a beautiful day...

i love this springtime weather! when we got home this afternoon, i did chalk drawings in the driveway. (note: i held onto squeezy-star & pink flower, even as i was drawing!) i also went to the neighbor's yard to admire her azaleas.

a lesson in geography...

can you name & locate all 50 states? well, i am working on achieving that goal. a few months ago, we discovered my aptitude for geography when i fell in love with a small globe at grammy & pappy's house. at that time, i learned the names & locations of several continents. since then, i have received a couple of puzzle-maps of the United States of America. i love looking at all the states & taking them out & putting them back in. i promise -- mommy & daddy don't force me to study!! i truly enjoy this!

i'm back...

sorry for the blog-less-ness over the last few days. we have been pretty busy with mommy & daddy's work & my school. hopefully mommy can take some more pictures today. but you can see, my wednesday is off to a GREAT start! :o)

this is how i go to sleep...

some kids sleep with a stuffed animal, but i sleep with a school bus!! you know i am all about the bus right now & i MUST bring it to bed with me. but amazingly, for the last three nights, i have gone to sleep by myself -- no singing from mommy or daddy & they aren't even in my room! i just "play" myself to sleep.

a very busy thursday...

i started off my thursday by going to school. when i was finished with school, i went to grammy & pappy's house. the weather was so beautiful, so i got to play outside for a few minutes. you can see here that i enjoyed the flowers & birds.











after i woke up from my nap, mommy & i met some friends at the mall. we got to ride the train, play at the lego store & ride the merry-go-round. (sorry there are not better pics of the train, but loading & unloading were pretty quick & hectic.) **but just LOOK at ALL those legos!!** and it's been a few months since i rode a merry-go-round, and i think i experienced a sensory overload! i was enthralled by the horses when i admired them from afar, but i was scared when it was time to actually SIT on one! mommy rode with me & by the end of the ride, i was fine.















so here i am on the ride home -- i was SOOO tired! we had to sit in a little bit of traffic, but i was pretty zoned-out. as long as i have this school bus, things are alright!! (in fact, i even had to take the school bus with me to me class this morning!) at bedtime, i did not give mommy any trouble & i even went to sleep in my room, by myself, without mommy being in the room with me! that makes TWO nights in a row! hooray!!!

with the change in seasons, i am finding that i need some new clothes. but my family keeps me pretty stocked in this area, so there's really no need to worry. aunt lorna & uncle gene gave me this shirt from the nashville children's theatre, which is where she works. and grammy & pappy gave me this pretty princess pajama gown. and uncle kyle & aunt trudy gave me the alligator pajamas. sorry these pictures are not of better quality, but you know i just can't stop moving for very long at all.

having a ball...

we have moved my ball bath & slide into mommy & daddy's room so that it can stay inflated all the time. i think it is really funny when i get a static-head from playing in the balls. it is so fun!

a bus and a flower...

this is how i spent much of my thursday afternoon... singing about a bus & playing with a flower. i've had the purple flower for quite some time, but i took a new liking to it today. the bus, however, is new -- well, at least it's new to ME. mommy got it at a consignment sale this morning. "the wheels on the bus" is one of my favorite songs. if you go to my favorite videos on the sidebar, you can watch the gigglebellies version, which i LOVE.
