my name is Mary Kathryn. i celebrated my seventh birthday on august 7, 2015. i still love music, especially anything that my daddy plays on the piano for me. i attend second grade & while i will tell you that i do not like school, i actually enjoy it. i enjoy reading about characters from "paw patrol" & "lego friends" & recently have begun reading some chapter books. often i use check lists to help me complete tasks & to help me know what to expect. i am constantly drawing & usually have several notebooks & pens handy. (my favorite pens are the pilot G2-07 black ones... you can't blame a girl for choosing the best!) some of my favorite things are dolphins, fish, whales, and pretty much anything that is PinK! i like to update this blog regularly so that everyone knows what is going on with me. please visit often, because i try to make a post at least every 2 or 3 days!
we LOVE our birmingham zoo!! on saturday night, we made our annual trip to the zoolight safari!
the birmingham zoo puts out lights every year at christmas.
in this picture, you can see daddy and me with the 3D flamingos. i also saw CrAzZzZy lights, even i sang it too.it was the song i read this in a book. "on the 7th day of christmas my truelove gave to me, 7 swans a swimming,6 geese a laying 5 golden rings!!!!" even i told mommy and daddy about DOLPHINtale 2!
we are SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad when we came home from zoolight. i love singing 12 days of christmas.
you can never give enough thanks, so we celebrated the holiday twice! first we had grammy & pappy over to my house on thursday. i helped mommy make carrot souffle & everyone (besides me!) said it was delish!
on sunday we celebrated in huntsville with daddy's family. we roasted marshmallows & the adults had a bit of silly shooting fun.
but the hammock fun was definitely my favorite!!
certainly, my school has a set of art displayed for each student. i made a cross with purple fin, wing, paw paint etc. mine is the middle one. a turtle with a paper bowl and tissue paper and a caterpillar with circle stamps with tissue paper grass. sarah's cross looked silly right from the start. i held a bucket of purple paint and i dipped it right into sarah's blowhole. "Hoo hoo! Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayaaaaaaaaaayh!!!!!!!!!!" she said as she made the sides of her cross. fifi likes making caterpillars and turtles because of tissue paper. and here i am with my sweet teacher, mrs. callie. and right below milli is my "world" that i painted.
well, it wasn't really THAT lazy, but we were very laid-back today. we went to church this morning & i put my luau t-shirt back on as SOON as we returned home. daddy had started putting out christmas decorations so mommy & i helped with that. i love putting all the nativity people looking at baby Jesus. isn't that how it should be anyway?
we looked though some thanksgiving things that i made at school recently. i created a "thankful journal" in which i listed many blessings. and i love my indian headband!
then i made some play-doh creations -- hello kitty & fifi. i also made some library books for them to read.
daddy has encouraged me to begin reading "the ghost of windy hill." this is one of the play-doh library books that i made too.
it's a bit more difficult than any reading i've attempted previously. but it's really holding my interest. in fact, i so enjoy re-reading chapters that we've only made it to chapter 3 so far! but it's getting exciting!
saturday, november 15 was a BIG day! at MLES we had a turkey trot. the 8th annual turkey trot! i ran SOoOoOoOoO fast and i even won 1st place! i had to pass 90 people and then i will be in the lead and i also got a picture with this turkey. he had like a little hat on himself. but i still like dancing to my favorite turkey songs.
