Happy Spring Break!!!

So I ended up with an unexpected vacation day
(I had requested the day off, but didn't really think
there would be anyone available to work it.)
So MK & I just played and played ALL day LONG.
We started with breakfast & Lego building.
Then MK had her Jump Rope For Heart pups & ducks put on a magic show.
We caught a midday break in the rain & enjoyed
all these "wet petals" from our cherry tree.
MK loves picking up the wet cherry blossoms & throwing
them around like confetti.  There are so many blossoms,
it looks like snow!
(Please pardon the wheel barrow & torn up wall ...
we are having some repair work done.)
And yes, we stayed in PJs all day!!  :o)
MK did a great job of practicing her piano songs & eating dinner.
So I promised we'd make cookies after her bath.
I've made this same cookie recipe hundreds of times!
But I definitely did something wrong tonight!
They were too runny & dough was all over the oven!
MK was disappointed to not get a sugar cookie snack,
so she got to lick the spatula & spoon.
AND eat a yellow PeeP chick.
It's Spring Break, so why not?

Dumbo and Lady...

If you have watched Dumbo or Lady and the Tramp, you can look at this post so you can see Dumbo and Lady as TSUM TSUMS! They come from the Disney store but I got Dumbo as a present from the Easter bunny. The money Grammy gave me was going towards my Lego treehouse, but I wanted to spend it on Lady instead.I got Lady at JCPenny, and the Tsum tsums there were about $6.00! I spent the Easter money. If I spent it on tsum tsums, then I wouldn't have enough money for my treehouse. Did you remember the post It takes heart to be a hero? That is a jumprope for heart post. Here's more.Last year we had ducks, and this year we have puppies. So I'm gonna tell you about the ducks. I made the standups that are ducks. My dad surprised me with this. Our first duck is Splatter Quacky. Then, our next duck dad surprised me with is Scribbles Ninja Duck. The last duck dad had saved it for last because she was my favorite. She IS my favorite! And her name is Ms. Cool, the "PE ROCKS" duck. Ms. Cool loves you. And my teachers covered a clock in our classroom. We could tell time on analog. We could do that someday, too!

Easter Fun...

We started Black Saturday with an egg hunt at Saint Mark. We listened to the Easter Story & enojyed time with the Easter Bunny.

On Easter morning, we went to the 630am sunrise service at Asbury! Due to rain, the service was held indoors. But a little poor weather won't stop our celebration! We returned home & MK looked through her Easter basket. Among the items was a 100-piece Lego Friends design studio building set. MK had already completed it before we went back for the regular church service! After church, we went to my parents' house for a delicious meal, complete with cake! We came home & relaxed a bit and MK liked playing with the cherry tree blossoms. What a GREAT day!!

The Easter Story...

MATTHEW 21:2-3 & 6-8:  Jesus sent two disciples, saying to them, "Go into the village in front of you, and immediately you will find a donkey tied & a colt with her.  Untie them & bring them to me.  If anyone says anything to you, you shall say, "The Lord needs them," and he will send them at once... The disciples went & did as Jesus had directed them.  The brought the donkey & the colt & put on them their cloaks, & he sat on them.  Most of the crowd spread their cloaks on the road, and others cut branches from the trees & spread them on the road.
MATTHEW 26:14-16:  Then one of the twelve, whose name was Judas Iscariot, went to the chief priests & said, "What will you give me if I deliver him over to you?"  And they paid him 30 pieces of silver.  And from that moment he sought an opportunity to betray him.
MATTHEW 26:27-28:  And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, "Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins."
MARK 14:32-34:  And they went to a place called Gethsemane.  And he said to his disciples, "Sit here while I pray."  And he took with him Peter & James & John, and began to be greatly distressed & troubled.  And he said to them, "My soul is very sorrowful, even to death.  Remain here & watch."
JOHN 19:1:  Then Pilate took Jesus and flogged him.
MARK 14:71-72:  But Peter began to invoke a curse on himself & to swear, "I do not know this man of whom you speak."  And immediately the rooster crowed a second time.  And Peter remembered how Jesus had said to him, "Before the rooster crows twice, you will deny me three times."  And he broke down & wept.
MATTHEW 27:27-29:  Then the soldiers of the governor took Jesus into the governor's headquarters & they gathered the whole battalion before him.  And they stripped him & put a scarlet robe on him, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on his head & put a reed in his right hand.  And kneeling before him, they mocked him, saying, "Hail, King of the Jews!"
JOHN 19:16-18:  So they took Jesus, and he went out, bearing his own cross, to the place called the place of a skull, which in Aramaic is called Golgotha.  There they crucified him, and with him two others, one on either side, and Jesus between them.
JOHN 19:32-34:  So the soldiers came & broke the legs of the first, and of the other who had been crucified with him.  But when they came to Jesus & saw that he was already dead, they not break his legs.  But one of the soldiers pierced his side with a spear, and at once there came out blood & water.
MATTHEW 27:57-60:  When it was evening, there came a rich man from Arimathea, named Joseph, who also was a disciple of Jesus.  He went to Pilate & asked for the body of Jesus.  Then Pilate ordered it to be given to him.  and Joseph took the body & wrapped it in a clean linen shroud & laid it in his own new tomb, which he had cut in the rock.  And he rolled a great stone to the entrance of the tome & went away.
MATTHEW 28:2-4:  And behold, there was a great earthquake, for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven & came & rolled back the stone & sat on it.  His appearance was like lightening, and his clothing was white as snow.  And for fear of him, guards trembled & became like dead men.
MATTHEW 28:5-6:  But the angel said to the women, "Do not be afraid, for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.  He is not here, for he has risen, as he said.  Come see the place where lay."
JOHN 3:16:  For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.

He is not here. He has risen!...
