cooking with mk...

i must have watched a video somewhere that is about cooking -- specifically about how the earth "cooked" a hundred billion years ago. so i have begun requesting mommy's real utensils & bowls & some uncooked pasta so that i can recreate this cooking show.
"you bake the earth's crust for, oh, a hundred billion years or so. then you add some ocean water & you give it a good stir because you really want to get that water moving. then you add in a little weather *hand motion of spritzing something into the bowl* -- just a little dab will do ya. and that's how you make the earth!"
mommy is pretty sure she can't remember what i say word-for-word, but i think you can get the idea.

school time...

mommy visited my class for the halloween party. we wore our costumes to school & since i still refused to wear the "chef mk" costume, i just wore my pajamas again. in this first picture you can see me reading the "Hh Cheer." my teacher mrs susan has a little rhyme for pretty much every letter of the alphabet. it goes something like this: "H is for honeybee, H is for hen. H is for hamster & hogs in a pen..." i love to recite these rhymes.
my teacher, mrs susan, is the one standing in the back of the classroom & wearing a black shirt.
i made trick-or-treat bag from a publix grocery sack. we painted our bags & put halloween stickers all over them.
sometimes i am the line leader, sometimes i am the caboose. but here i am in the middle. my staying-in-line-skills are improving all the time.

more fall fun...

these pictures are from a camping-style thanksgiving celebration with my aunt judy & uncle craig's family. we met them at desoto campground in childersburg.
aunt judy made a *delicious* meal for us (well, you know I didn't eat it, but everyone else said it was yummy!) while we were touring the park, a dog came over & finished off the would-be-left-overs! oh NO!!
one of the attractions at desoto is this potty race. you can sit on a toilet & drive it around a little track! how funny! i was not tall enough to do the potty race, but you can see matt & stephanie puttering around here. i was SuPeR upset that i could not ride the toilets... we'll just have to return when i am tall enough.
but i DiD get to enjoy the "tubs of fun." this a spinny-cup egg-beater type of ride. mommy & i did this together & she could control the speed of spinning. that was really good because a few times we had to slow down -- it was almost too much spinning, even for a spinny-girl like me!
we had a great day & have so much to be thankful for! i can't wait to do it all again!

do you know what day it is?

so i admit, this has been the worst gap in blog-posting EVER. so i am playing catch-up. sure, it's a new year now, but i figure you may still enjoy seeing some of the fall holidays too. here are some pics from the trunk-or-treat at saint mark. after frolicking at this event i actually went on to a similar event at asbury UMC. what girl is so lucky to get to trunk-or-treat twice in one day?? i was so overwhelmed that i did not even care about actually trick-or-treating on halloween!!
they had a cookie-decorating booth. of COURSE that was great fun -- both the decorating & the EaTinG!!
i talked to shrek for a few minutes. i was not even afraid!
i also went fishing for prizes. but i really liked just looking at the fish painted on this ocean scene.
grammy made a super-cute 'chef MK' costume for me, complete with the poofy hat. but i refused to wear it. alas... i wore my pajamas & dressed as a little-girl-ready-for-bed. i think it WaS neat that i wore this special kitty-cat bathrobe. grammy made it too -- but she made it more than THirTY years ago -- for my MommY!! up until halloween i had also refused to wear this bathrobe. but there was slight chill in the air on the day of trunk-or-treat, so i wore the robe willingly. i thought it was a great way to complete my bedtime costume.
here i am, hanging out with daddy, mr rob & mrs sue. they looked SO silly!
H O N K ! ! !
and i ReaLLY enjoyed playing in the leaves! it was a great day!

fun on the farm...

on friday, we visited a new pumpkin patch in harpersville, alabama. of course the pumpkin patch itself was neat, but old baker farm is a live, functioning farm! so we got to enjoy other things too.
i got to experience REAL cotton, growing on the bush. daddy & i talked about how grammymommie picked cotton when she was a little girl. i liked to look at the cotton, but i was somewhat skittish of touching it!
i enjoyed running through (and OveR!) the hay maze. it was a little itchy, but i was having so much fun that i tried to ignore that. just look at the photos below here & you'll see what i mean!!
we took a hay-ride behind a john deere tractor to get to the actual pumpkin patch. we searched & searched for the perfect pumpkins -- this farm had some really unique choices! during much of my pumpkin search, i also inspected the prickleberry things that seemed to be EvERYwhERE!!
when we finished choosing our pumpkins, the tractor drove us back to the field where everyone had parked so that we could unload our treasures. then mommy, daddy & i took a little jog though the corn maze. we tried to take pictures, but i was SO excited & running so fast -- mommy & daddy were afraid they might lose me. the corn maze was defnitely FuN, but just not a good photo op!!
WoW! i was so tired when we finished our visit to old baker farm. and i am already requesting to go back again soon!

at home we've also continued in cutting, gluing & coloring practice. here's one of my latest art projects...

down at the patch...

we visited the saint mark pumpkin patch earlier this week. i helped mommy pick out LOTS of pumpkins!!
the men working at the patch even gave me some squishy animal toys. while i was there, i played with all the toys, even the ones that i could not bring home with me. in the picture above, you might notice the blue whale in my hand. he helped me with the pumpkin selection process.
when we returned home, my new squishy whale & star helped daddy & me to move all the pumpkins to our front steps. i am a GReAT helper!!
there are SoOoOo many pumpkins!!!

game night...

on saturday night, grammy & pappy came to our house for a game of dominoes. i greeted them in the driveway as i was drawing with my sidewalk chalk.
after i ate my dinner, i was very happy to eat some cake that grammy brought for us!! mmm! it was carrot cake -- i can't say that i liked the CaKe, but i loved the icing & the cute carrot that decorated the top!
before they got into their dominoes game, i had a little game time myself. here, you can see mommy teaching grammy how to play "farm families." you pick a momma animal & have to figure out under which haystack her baby is hiding. i am learning how to take turns. it is NoT always easy!!
then daddy helped us to set up a game of princess matching. there are ten different kinds of disney princess cards. we put one of each card on the table. then grammy & i took turns at matching our next card to a princess.
this game had no real winner -- unless you consider ME the winner because i did such a good job of taking turns with grammy!!
