we're at the beach!!!

do you know the song from "peter pan" that goes likes this: "we're following the leader, the leader, the leader. we're following the leader, whereever he may go..." ? well, we've been singing it like this: "we're going to the beach, the beach, the beach! we're going to the beach & it will be so fun!" today has been so busy for me. we left birmingham just after lunch & arrived in panama city around dinner time. i was a great traveller & stayed in pretty good mood for the whole ride. after we got settled in our room, we went to eat dinner at shuck'ems, which is an oyster pub. that's when daddy took this pic of me in his sunglasses! the waiter was really nice to me & brought me crayons & a picture to color. *i actually tried to color -- this is a new skill for me. then we squeezed in a quick trip to the beach & i LOVED it!! i ran around on the sand for a really long time & then i noticed there was water too! oh-my-goodness!! i only played in the water for a few minutes (it was high tide) but i cannot wait to go back on thursday! :)

just some pics & a school update...

nothing much to share about these pictures. i DID go to school again today. my teachers had to call daddy to come get me early, but i lasted longer than i did last week. they say i had a better day today, so i hope to improve each time i go!

i can play like a big girl...

today we went to the playground & i thought i would investigate these steps. i've never paid them much attention, but for some reason, i was intrigued by them today. so i climbed up to see where they went, and there is a whole exciting world up there!! i especially enjoyed this steering wheel and mommy & i sang "the wheels on the bus" as i drove along. i actually did go down the slides, but i wanted mommy to help me, so she was not able to take pictures of that. but maybe next time!!

a wiggle worm can learn to sit still...

well, MaYbE i can sit still!!! one of the things my teachers say i need to work on is sitting at the table while i drink my juice or have snack. so on friday, i ate all my meals at the kitchen table & even played with some toys there also. the table is a little big for me, but it was a good start. i don't mind eating at the table, but i do still move around a LOT. i am just so full of energy!!

my first day of school...

this year i am venturing into an unknown territory... SCHOOL. actually, it is a "mother's day out" program at our old church, st mark UMC. it is good for me to go to school there because it is close to mommy's work & also close to grammy's house (she will pick me up on tuesdays). my class meets on tuesdays & thursdays from 9am to 1pm. but for the first few weeks, we only meet from 9am to 12 noon. i guess that gives us "newbies" a chance to settle in before staying for the entire day. that is a good thing too, because i had somewhat of a difficult time today. you know i am very independent, so sometimes it is hard for me to do as i am told. oh well... that will improve. it took me a little while to get used to the nursery at brook hills, so i'm sure this will be a similar transition. (but now i LOVE the nursery at church, so i am sure i will love school soon also!)

stack it up...

grammy & pappy gave me these blocks for Christmas last year. the blocks will either stack on top of each other or i can put them inside of each other. only recently have i really figured out what i like to do with them. i am getting pretty good at stacking them up (and knocking them over!!) just watch :)

more randomness...

nothing special here... just more random stuff from my day. you know -- i just did chores, like putting away the groceries. then i curled up & relaxed with a soft blanket & a good puzzle.

what i did on sunday...

today we were pretty lazy & just hung around the house for most of the day. i am getting better at putting the pieces in my animals puzzle. on friday, daddy worked with me alot on this puzzle. by today i could pretty much do it all by myself. mommy & i also played outside with my sand & my tricycle. i rode the trike for a little while, but i had the most fun PuLLinG it all around the driveway!

an update of random pics...

there's no rhyme or reason to this post -- it's just a bunch of random shots. a couple of weeks ago, i visited my friend owen & i got to ride his horsie. mommy & daddy gave me a ducky-hooded towel for my birthday so i decided to try it out! and notice the parrot i am holding *i like to think of it as a colorful ducky* that belonged to my daddy when HE was a little boy! i love it!














one day when i was playing outside, i noticed the gargoyles had been moved to the back of the house. i talked to this guy for a while, but he never responded. and the last picture is just of me being happy & smiley! :)

of course i have been coming down the stairs all by myself for a while now. but recently i started using the railing to stay steady rather than coming down on my bottom or crawling down backwards. i think i am a BIG girl!!

thank you for my birthday presents...

wow! i have so many new fun things to play with! of course i LOVE books & i really like the sounds my mickey books make. i also like to read about the baby ducky growing into a big ducky. my babydoll still makes me laugh & i like to look at her, but i prefer that mommy hold her for me. i tried to ride my bike on wednesday, but i am still a little frightened of it. i let mommy push me around for a bit & then i just enjoyed playing with the streamers.

after the party...

when the excitement of my birthday party was over, i went outside to run around a little. i did all the usual... looking at plants & leaves and i made my circle up the steps, past the juniper & down the driveway.

here are a few more shots from my birthday party. recently, i have really begun to enjoy numbers & letters. my cousin drew & i played with my new foam letter blocks. after the party, daddy & i played with my flip-the-blocks-letter-board. but the most exciting thing was being able to put my magnet numbers on my new magnet board. i do not actually say my numbers out loud, but i can pick them up & place them on my board in order! in this pic, i had just placed 1,2,3,4 & then i decided to remove them off 4,3,2,1. i did this all the way up to 9!!

i'm the birthday girl!

we celebrated my 2nd birthday yesterday!! hooray! i got to enjoy some time with family & they brought me all sorts of neat gifts. you know i LOVE duckies, so we had a duck-theme party. i ate my cake very delicately, but when mommy & daddy tried to take it away, i got really upset! that icing was YuMMy!! aunt judy fed me ice cream & that was delicious too! and check out my cute chicken-dress -- grammy made it just for me. aunt lorna & uncle gene gave me this tricycle & i cannot wait to ride it outside. another fun thing was lining up these rubber duckies on the counter. i even took them with me in the bath tub last night. that turned out to be not-so-fun because i wanted to hold all ten ducks at once & since they were always floating away, it was rather difficult. i had a great birthday!
