we arrived at the polynesian hotel on tuesday night, but we were tuckered out from the all our activities. we went to bed early to be more energetic on wednesday. our first day of disney was a bit rainy, but we didn't let that dampen our spirits! my first ride was the "people mover" -- nice & calm, followed by the teacups, which i LoVeD!
we visited princess ariel in her grotto. i don't watch many videos, other than you-tube, so i haven't really been exposed to many disney characters. but a big thanks goes to my grammy for showing me a few tapes at her house over the last few weeks (she has many disney movies on VHS, which are currently in the "disney vault.") otherwise, i wouldn't have known who many of the characters are. of course i LOVE ocean things & so it just makes sense that ariel would be my fave.
dumbo is another of my favorite disney movies! and i LOVE the song "baby mine." we rode the dumbo ride a few times!
i also love winnie the pooh (and piglet & tigger!!) this ride was great -- actually the que was great! it was one of the longer wait times we experienced, but there were all sorts of fun things to do as we waited! i pushed bees through hives & there was an touch-screen honey-drawing wall!
eventually the rain was soaking enough that we had to don the ponchos. i was hesitant at first, but i didn't want to get rained on... so i agreed! and we continued to have fun!
we ended the day with "its a small world," "mickey's philhar-magic," some fireworks & ice cream. i LOVED the 3-D mickey show and my uncontrolled laughter was contagious! the fireworks show began as we were finishing "its a small world" & we found ourselved directly underneath the show! it was super LOUD, but the fireworks filled the sky above us. it was unlike any fireworks show any of us had ever seen. then we had ice cream. at 10pm, because, hey -- its vacation. :o)
